2010 - 2014, Berlin

We are pleased to announce our latest project: “Asian Perceptions of the EU” (www.asianperceptions.eu) of the KFG / Free University Berlin. Over the next four years, we will support this highly interesting and innovative research project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

An interdisciplinary and international Research Group at the FU Berlin will be analyzing the perception of the EU as a civilian power, from the viewpoint of Asian elites. Goal is to overcome individual views (due to cultural and disciplinary predispositions) and to create so-called multi-perspectives.

The “Networked Think Tank”-Portal has been conceptualized and realized by Coconets in close cooperation with the head of the Research Group, Dr. May-Britt Stumbaum, and her team. The portal serves as key communication and collaboration tool for all members of the Research Group as well as Visiting Fellows from India and China, regardless of their location. In more concrete terms, it features a range of well-selected web 2.0 tools for social interaction, discourse, collaboration, knowledge creation, as well as self-reflection. Over the course of the project, the “Networked Think Tank”-Portal will be further developed and continuously expanded, according to the wishes and needs of the Research Group.
